Preparation Day

About 24 hours from now we will be gather at the airport to check into our flights and take the next phase of the amazing journey. We've been working hard at preparing our hearts and minds to do His will.

I'm nervous to be on the way and see what's going to happen. Have I studied my stories enough? Is every item packed that we need? What's the language barrier going to be like? (We're going to Chinese-speaking people in a French-speaking city.) Is my heart purified and my spirit emptied for His purpose?

There are a lot of questions and concerns, but I know He is able. The thing I'm am holding onto in the whole whirlwind of emotion and action is Paul's benediction in Ephesians 3:20-21 - Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.

I'm praying that He will work through this fragile vessel of clay for His glory and His purpose. I can't do it, but He can.

Today's prayer calendar item is from Ephesians 6:19-20

And pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Pray that God would grant us boldness - and that He will do more than we can imagine.
