This week has taught me many things. On day one, God showed me how hospitable Pastor Au and his sweet wife Pearl are and how grateful they were to have us here. On day two, God showed me that He is so much bigger than me, and He has a perfect plan for each and every person that walks through the church doors. On day three, God showed me that I need to step down out of the way and watch Him work. On day four, God showed me that language barriers do not even come close to getting in His way!!!
I know that He will continue to do great things through the rest of our stories that we share, the crafts we help the children make, making balloon animals, going for trips to the park, and through fellowship with our brothers and sisters. But the best thing of all is that we will know and recognize all these faces again when we get to heaven!
Going into day five, I am going to step out of the way, humble myself, stop worrying about what they think of me, and focus on what God has called me to do. They do not care if we speak the same language, or what we look like... the only thing that they need is love, encouragement, prayer, and discipleship. To Him be the glory!!!
Psalm 139:23-24 Search me and know me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxious thoughts; and see if there are any hurtful way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.
Psalm 149:1 Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, and His praise in the congregation of the godly ones.
I look forward to the next four days, and I know God will continue to show His mighty hand as I give Him the glory for what He will do!
In Him,
Aimee
